An auction for Newspaper Publishing has not been ruled out if satisfactory bids are not received soon.
The consortium consisting of the founders and MGN is expected to submit a bid soon; a counter bid is likely from Independent Newspapers of Ireland. However if the process becomes so delayed that the future of the titles is threatened, then a last resort would be to hold an auction.
