Independent On Sunday Expands

TheIndependent On Sunday is getting bigger on January 19. It is also going to get better and brighter if you believe the marketing hype.

In terms of page space it is certainly expanding. The news section will have extra pages of comment and analysis and two, brand new, separate sections have been added. The first will contain sport and business coverage. The second, ‘Spending’, will be full of news, features, ideas and advice on travel, property and personal finance.

The ‘Real Life’ section has also been given a makeover. ‘Real Life’ will have many new features reflecting the way we live today. Although there are to be no major changes to the ‘Sunday Review’ supplement it will now include a full seven day television and radio listings guide.

Finally, the Independent on Sunday has also added a big name columnist to its pay roll. The Body Shop’s Anita Roddick is joining the writing team.

These changes are likely to have been made in the light of the paper’s falling readership and circulation figures (subscribers can access the latest press data in Press Planner by clicking here and choosing Press).
