Rosie Boycott has been announced as the new editor of the Independent On Sunday. She replaces Peter Wilby who left the paper last week *Appointments.
It is believed that Mr Wilby was asked to leave the paper by David Montgomery, the Mirror Group’s chief executive, due to poor sales. The latest ABC figure for the title, released on Friday *(Newsline 09/10/96), shows that in September its circulation fell by 11.27% year-on-year to 292,426 copies.
Ms Boycott was previously editor of Esquire magazine and was voted Editor of the Year in 1993 and 1994.
