Independent Success

The latest round of national newspaper circulation figures, for July, show the Independent up over 16% on last July’s figure, to 299,744; the biggest increase of all titles compared to last year. In second place is the Times, up 9.4%. Most newspapers fared better this year than the same period last year.

The Sun, however, had a disappointing month, down nearly 5% on last year to below 4 million at 3,974,337. The Express titles yet again lost circulation, the daily down by almost 6% and the Sunday title down by 8%. The title which fared worst though was Today, losing nearly 12% to 551,740.
