Publisher of the Independent and the Independent on Sunday, Newspaper Publishing, has announced that it is attempting to raise capital from existing shareholders as well as attracting new investors to the company. The announcement has cleared the way for Spanish publishing group El Pais and La Repubblica to go ahead with its proposed share increase which will give the two companies a total shareholding of 50%.
