Inflation Rate Edges Up In March

The latest data from the Office Of National Statistics shows that the rate of inflation rose slightly during March.

The underlying rate of inflation, which was 2.2% in February, edged up to 2.3% in March, still below the government’s target of 2.5%. The headline rate was 1.3%.

The retail prices index for March 2002 was 173.5.
