July’s Retail Price Index, released this morning, shows that inflation has risen to 1.4%. This is an increase of 0.2 percentage points on June, when it stood at 1.2%.
Inflation rose during the first 3 months of 1993 and then dropped again in the second quarter. The actual Retail Price Index for July, taking 1985 as base rate, was 148.7.
