Inside Money – First Issue Report
Centaur’s new title, out today, claims to be “the first magazine written with the aim of putting you in control of your money”, and adopts an appropriately informative stance thereafter through 96 glossy pages of news and views on banks, investments, mortgages, insurance and overseas economies.
The magazine goes in for a little name dropping with a feature on stars and supermodels – “Their Face is Their Fortune” – and Michael Winner – “My First Million”.
There are approximately 33 pages of advertising, largely PEPs, Unit Trusts and Investment Plans, but also including household names such as Bradford & Bingley Nationwide, Scottish Life and an insert from Prudential. No non-financial ads. Half of the advertising is full colour. First issue has a print run of 100,000, of which about 10,000 are subscriptions. Centaur anticipate an initial settle-down circulation of 50,000 in a market (examples below) which includes bank and building society titles.
