Insider Promotion For In Style Editorship
![]()
IPC Southbank has announced that Louise Chunn, currently deputy editor of In Style will move up to the position of editor, following the departure of launch editor Dee Nolan last month (see Promotions And Appointments After One Year In Style).
Chunn has also been with the magazine since its launch early last year. Her previous experience includes editing Just Seventeen, the Guardian’s women’s pages and ES magazine. She has also been deputy editor of both Elle and Vogue.
The new editor will need to bring the benefit of her pedigree in the women’s glossies into play, as while In Style makes it into the top twenty titles by circulation in the monthly market (see below), it lags some way behind market leaders Cosmopolitan and Glamour.
Tim Brooks, MD at IPC Southbank, commented: “I have spent the past weeks interviewing external candidates- the level of interest in the job being predictably high- but nobody offered the strength of experience, leadership and understanding of the In Style brand that Louse brings to her new responsibilities.”
