Institute For Sales
The UK’s first nationally recognised Institute of Professional Sales will launch on Friday. This signals an important shift in business attitudes towards sales people. According to the Institute’s chief executive, John Mayfield: “We have finally attributing ‘professional’ status to a sector, which has historically, been considered the poor relation of marketing.”
A number of companies, including IBM and Lego UK, have already committed their sales forces to joining the new institute.
The Institute aims to develop best practice through meaningful membership, qualifications and training; it will be supported by its sister company, The Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Membership of the new organisation requires a combination of qualifications and experience.
