Instyle hires new editor

InStyle's Website IPC Southbank’s fashion and style magazine InStyle has appointed Eilidh MacAskill as editor, to replace Trish Halpin who has moved to its sister title Marie Claire.

MacAskill, who is currently deputy managing editor of InStyle in the US, will take up her new position on February 3.

The former editor of Northern & Shell’s Happy, MacAskill has also been fashion director at Express Group and associate editor of Scotland on Sunday.

She said: “I couldn’t be more delighted to return to the UK to edit InStyle. It is incredibly exciting to have the opportunity to work with the InStyle team in shaping the magazine and the website for years to come.”

Jackie Newcombe, IPC Southbank’s managing director, added: “Eilidh is uniquely qualified for this role, as she is not only steeped in fashion but also has spent the last year in New York as deputy managing editor of InStyle‘s flagship edition.”

In the latest ABC release, InStyle reported a 1.2% year on year increase, taking its circulation to almost 190,000 copies (see ABC Results Jan-Jun 2008:Glamour Takes The Lead In The Women’s Monthly Sector).
