Interest Grows In EMAP Titles
Sources for EMAP have confirmed that the company has received a “number of approaches” regarding the sale of some of its business titles, including Media Week and Press Gazette, and is talking to one party in particular.
A number of publishers have been named in connection with a possible sell, including Pearson, Miller Freeman, Haymarket and Wilmington. Newsline spoke earlier to the press offices at Pearson and Miller Freeman and both said that they never commented on ‘industry speculation’. Haymarket and Wilmington were unavailable for comment at the time of going to press.
It was first confirmed yesterday that the group is considering an offer for some of its magazine titles when Robin Miller, chief executive of EMAP, announced record profits for the media group (see yesterday’s Newsline).
