Interest Rates Cut By 0.25%
The Bank of England has announced that it has decided to cut interest rates by 0.25%. This will come as a great relief to businesses and trade unions which have been lobbying the Bank to cut rates in order to stave off a recession.
It is still thought by analysts, however, that the reduction, to 7.25%, may not be substantial enough to revive the flagging UK and world economy.
