International Alliance For New Saatchi
Maurice Saatchi’s New Saatchi Agency is expected to announce an alliance with an international advertising network, which would allow it to pitch for global accounts such as British Airways. The industry favourite for the alliance is Publicis but several US networks have also been linked to the new agency.
The New Saatchi Agency is also hoping to capture Dixons Group from Saatchis next month. Dixons, which includes the Currys and PC World chains, spends about £40m a year on advertising. Dixons put its business up for review following the departure of Maurice Saatchi in December. A switch in agencies would be no surprise, as the Dixon’s chairman was openly critical of the way Maurice was ousted from his position as chairman of the Saatchi group.
