Internet ‘Pay-Per-View’ System Launched
Business Monitor, the online business and economics information source, has launched its DataCash payment system whereby users pay a fee for each item of data requested. This means that users will no longer pay annual subscriptions.
The first database to be made available through DataCash is Spicers Centre for Europe, an information source containing over 60,000 abstracted records covering official EU documentation. A charge of 60 pence will be made for each item of data requested. There are two ways payments can be made: credit card details can be given and fees will be deducted whenever data is viewed or an account can be set up from which money will be deducted accordingly.
DataCash will implement a variety of encryption security devices which it believes will ensure that all credit transactions are safe from hackers.
