Internet Users Double In Twelve Months

The number of UK homes connected to the Internet has doubled from just under 400,000 in June 1996 to 960,000 in June 1997, according to a survey by NOP – the equivalent of one in twenty five of all UK households.

Overall, the survey also shows that six million adults in Britain used the Internet in the same period, with usage expected to grow to nine million by mid-1998.
