IoS Revamp On The Back Burner

Andrew Pike of the Independent On Sunday has shot down speculation that the paper is planning a revamp in the near future, and denies that it is to ditch its tabloid business section, as suggested in this week’s trade press.

Speaking to MediaTel this morning he stressed that the stigma which may previously have been attached to having a tabloid business supplement has evaporated and as it was a brave move for the paper to risk launching the section in the first place, it is not about to dump it in favour of a broadsheet. Sales for the paper have risen from 377826 last year (Oct-Mar92) to 402548 for October-March 1993.
