IPA Announces New Awards Criteria

After a seven month review the IPA has announced the new criteria for the biennial IPA Advertising Effectiveness Awards. The changes agreed for the 1998 competition, which will be launched at the IPA on 3 November are:

  • more client involvement
  • two stage judging panel of experts and clients
  • no categories
  • wider prize structure with 5 level star system
  • increased emphasis on measures of advertising effects beyond consumer sales
  • a special prize for new learning
  • a new awards logo
