IPA Census Reveals More Agency Jobs

It is reported in newsfile, the IPA’s newsletter, that the 1996 IPA Agency Census has revealed that there was another increase in the number of people employed by ad agencies. All records were apparently broken for attendance to IPA Stage 1, the course for trainees. There were 180 delegates for the autumn course against 120 in 1994 and 62 in 1992. This report is out in full later this month.

…Also in newsfile: the summary from the confidential 1996 IPA Costs Analysis shows that there was a continuing tightening of margins to December 1995 and to March 1996 with gross income at 11.78% of billing (against 12.14% the previous year) and net profit from ad activities at 1.60% of billing (against 1.64%).
