IPA Launches Professional Development Awards

The IPA has launched the latest stage of the Continuous Professional Development scheme it began last year. The Excellence in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) award scheme will reward the best people-development initiatives among IPA agencies with CPD accreditation.

IPA president, Bruce Haines, said: “Continuous professional development is an agency-wide responsibility and the awards are open to people from any discipline, whether it be training, client facing or support.”

Award categories include best agency-wide initiative, best individual initiative and best use of small budget. Entries will be judged by a panel of 12 industry practitioners including managing director of Optimedia, Simon Matthews, Kate Bruges, director at J Walter Thompson, Barrie Brien, financial director of Lowe Lintas and director of human resources at Grey Worldwide, Lynn Cunningham. Founder partner of Abbott Mead Vickers and honorary secretary of the IPA, Adrian Vickers, will chair the panel.

Full guidelines, rules, conditions and an entry form are available on the IPA’s website. All entries must be in by 31 May 2002, with the awards being made in September next year.
