IPA Survey: Graduate Calibre Better Than Before

According to an IPA survey into graduate trainees, the calibre of graduates entering the advertising industry is as good or better than before.

The survey, conducted among the 50 UK agencies that regularly take on graduates, revealed that:

  • An oxbridge degree is no longer regarded as essential to get into the business
  • Although a degree itself is still crucial, the subject is not particularly important
  • Only a small minority of agencies conduct ‘milk round’ visits to universities; most recruit by sifting applications.
