IPC Announces New Title

IPC has announced its first new magazine launch as an independent company (subscribers see IPC Magazines Gains Independence). Living etc is described as a “home magazine with personality, vitality and spirit” and is aimed at “design conscious, aspirationally stylish women (and men) in their twenties and thirties.”

The title goes on sale on March 6 and will have a cover price of £2.40. Apparently unworried by a recent burgeoning of home interest titles, editor-in-chief Sally O’Sullivan commented: “As yet there is no modern, accessible, home magazine which appeals nation-wide to young, aspirationally stylish people. Living etc is fresh, contemporary and pacey, but reassuringly friendly in a ‘real-life’ way.”

The launch of Living etc will be supported by a £750,000 above and below the line campaign including women’s press, retail trade schemes and a major national press promotion.

The title will be edited by Sarah Bravo, deputy editor of Ideal Home and has been designed by Julie Rogers, art director of Ideal Home.

IPC used to publish the similarly-named Living , a monthly women’s title which closed in November 1995 after sales dropped to just over 106,000.
