IPC Appoints Masthead TV Chief

IPC has announced the appointment of Nick Ryle as head of TV development to spearhead the publisher’s move into masthead programming, which has recently been allowed onto terrestrial TV (see ITC Extends Masthead Programming To Terrestrial).

Ryle joins IPC this month from his own TV and video production company. Colin Reeves-Smith, managing director of IPC’s International and Business Enterprises division, commented: “The relaxation of the ITC rulings on masthead programming is excellent news for publishers, but you need the experience and expertise to understand which brands are able to make the transition successfully.”

…Keith McNeill, editor of Woman’s Own, has unexpectedly died at the age of 44 following a short illness. He was also a key member of the company’s Editorial Steering Group.

…IPC’s Rugby World magazine has a new editorial team. Paul Morgan and Daniel Ford join as editor and deputy editor respectively, following the move by current editor Alison Kervin to publisher of Rugby World and IPC’s golf titles.

Hair magazine has a new editor in the shape of Carol Ramsey, following the resignation of current editor Annette Dennis last year. Ramsey joins from PR company Writing Inc.
