IPC Envisages 100 Titles BY 2000
Following the hive of activity of the last couple of days as IPC Magazines was bought by venture capitalists Cinven and announced the restructuring of its management teams, chief executive Mike Matthew has confirmed his ‘vision’ for the magazine group to take it into 2000.
The UK’s largest publisher of consumer magazines is planning to add a further 30 titles to its portfolio by the year 2000, taking its output to 100 titles. Although IPC will not confirm any imminent launches it is believed that there are a couple of new home interest titles in the pipeline, one of which, 30 Beautiful Homes, was piloted in September last year (see Newsline Pilot Issue Review – 30 Beautiful Homes).
A spokesperson for IPC said that whilst the group is still “reeling” from all the recent developments we can “expect expansions in the near future.”
