IPC Ignite! Appoints McKinney As Marketing Director
![]()
Niall McKinney, who is currently head of marketing for IPC’s men and music titles, has been promoted to marketing director across the IPC Ignite! group.
McKinney joined IPC in 2001 from digital agency Kerb, he previously worked in brand management for Proctor and Gamble, where he developed media strategy for the entire UK business.
His appointment is the first senior promotion by Tim Brooks, the newly appointed managing director of IPC Ignite! Brooks was previously managing director of IPC Southbank, but moved to IPC Ignite! after ex-FHM editor, Mike Soutar, took charge of the entire magazine business late last year (see IPC Shakes Up Management For New Launches).
Brooks commented: “I was already well aware, from talking to my predecessor, Mike Soutar, that Niall has been playing an important part in the delivery of our titles to their readers. He has developed innovative and enticing marketing solutions for our ground-breaking brands and will be an excellent addition to my senior team.”
IPC has undergone a range of management changes over the past few months, as it prepares for a number of new launches. However, one management change the group was perhaps not expecting was the departure of chief executive, Sly Bailey, who recently announced that she is leaving the company to take over from Philip Graf as chief executive of Trinity Mirror (see Bailey Leaves IPC To Replace Graf At Trinity Mirror).
