IPC Promotes Magazine Subscriptions As Christmas Gifts

IPC Media is launching a radio advertising campaign to encourage consumers to consider magazine subscriptions as Christmas gifts.
The campaign launches later this week on Magic FM with two separate executions featuring the voice of Lucy Gaskell from ITV1’s Cutting It drama series. One ad will drive consumers to IPC’s subscriptions website www.xmasmagazines.com and the other will advertise the subscriptions hotline number.
The initiative will also see IPC Subscriptions take stands in London shopping centres and gift fairs to promote its range of consumer titles and sell gift subscriptions directly to Christmas shoppers.
Jonathan Hoar, senior marketing manager at IPC, said: “Magazine subscriptions are an increasingly popular and mainstream Christmas gift. We are determined to stay ahead of the game by promoting our uniquely diverse portfolio of titles to a broad audience, as we know we have a title for everyone.”
He added: “Traditionally, subscriptions would target people through direct mail, inserts and advertisements in IPC titles. We now feel it is important to expand on this and test a range of ways to reach new audiences. Magic FM and talking directly to potential readers is a fantastic way to do this.”
IPC has also announced that its Chat magazine for women has teamed up with Asda to launch a pre-Christmas promotion designed to boost sales amongst supermarket shoppers (see Chat Magazine Launches Pre-Christmas Promotion).
