IPC Promotes Ward To IPC tx Managing Director
IPC Magazines has promoted Caroline Ward to the position of managing director at IPC tx, the group’s TV weeklies division. Ward, who is currently publishing director of IPC tx, replaces Sly Bailey who became group chief executive earlier in the year following the retirement of Mike Matthew (see Matthew Retires As Chief Executive Of IPC Ahead Of Floatation). Ward also takes a place on the IPC Board as part of her promotion.
Commenting on the appointment Bailey said: “Caroline takes over at a very challenging and exciting time for the tx business. We have an aggressive agenda and she will drive the tx strategy through developing our market leading portfolio of brands both from a print and digital perspective.” IPC tx’s titles include What’s On TV and TV Times.
At the same time IPC has appointed Elaine Foran as publisher for Nova, the ’60s style and fashion magazine which is being relaunched by IPC SouthBank in spring next year (see IPC To Resurrect ’60s Style Bible Nova). Foran moves to IPC from EMAP Elan where she has been international publisher and joint advertisement director for Elle and Red.
