IPC Re-Shuffles Management Board

IPC Media has announced the appointment of four new members to its media board, including Caroline Ward who will become managing director of IPC Connect, the group’s women’s weeklies division.
Ward’s appointment, and the subsequent management shake-up, follows the announcement that Linda Genower was retiring from her role of managing director of IPC Connect, less than a week after the appointment of Sylvia Auton as chief executive (see Genower Steps Down As Head Of Women’s Weeklies At IPC).
The management shake-up will see Philippa Brown replacing Ward as manager of IPC tx, moving from her current position of group marketing director to fill the role. Brown will also take board responsibility for IPC’s content and licensing division.
Evelyn Webster is promoted from publishing director of IPC’s country and equestrian titles to become managing director of IPC country and leisure media. Webster will also take board responsibility for consumer direct, IPC’s subscriptions, mail order and database marketing business.
Georgina Crace has been appointed managing director of the troubled Wallpaper* group, in addition to continuing her current role as managing director of IPC Advertising. According to IPC, this move will enable editorial director, Mike Soutar, who currently has board responsibility for the Wallpaper* Group, to entirely focus on accelerating IPC’s new launch programme.
Sylvia Auton, IPC’s newly-appointed chief executive, commented: “I’m delighted to be able to make these four internal appointments. We can now focus on delivering IPC’s next stage of growth and development.”
IPC recently announced plans to launch a cross-magazine ad campaign to promote McDonald’s New Tastes Menu across titles including Now, Essentials and Woman (see IPC Secures McDonald’s For Cross Title Ad Campaign).
