IPC To Launch Interactive TV Listings

IPC To Launch Interactive TV Listings

IPC Magazines, which publishes TV Times, has joined the Cambridge interactive TV Trial and has begun to develop the world’s first interactive multimedia TV listings guide with the help of Online Media. IPC Magazines will be part of the Service Nursery which allows potential service providers to try out interactive TV to see whether it is commercially viable.

The Interactive TV Times will include programme schedules and preview clips which will cover all the major terrestrial and satellite TV and radio channels. IPC Magazines Linda Lancaster-Gaye said “We are pleased to take part in this world leading trial of interactive TV, and to demonstrate how the traditional skills of magazine publishing can be taken forward into the digital age. We are determined to be the first this side of the Atlantic to launch a fully interactive TV guide.”
