IPC To Resurrect ’60s Style Bible Nova
IPC Magazines is set to resurrect the ’60s and ’70s style bible Nova, in a new venture with Groupe Marie Claire. Under the editorship of Debbie Bee, former editor of fashion and lifestyle title Scene, Nova is set to relaunch in spring 2000.
Publishing director Rita Lewis says: “Debbie Bee and I have been plotting the reincarnation of Nova for the past 12 months. The millennium is the perfect point in time to reintroduce the brand which redefined culture and the part women were to play in the ’60s and ’70s. Nova in the new millennium will borrow from this brand heritage and be as apt as it was in the ’70s.”
Nova was originally launched in 1965, although Colin Reeve-Smith, IPC SouthBank’s managing director, thinks that the concept of the title has stood the test of time: ” It has been my ambition to bring Nova back… [and] I can’t think of a better partner than Groupe Marie Claire who have been incredibly supportive over the past 11 years on Marie Claire,” he said.
