IPC Unveils Web User Magazine

IPC Media is set to launch its first technology title. Web User will be available in both print and web form from March 22, targeting the burgeoning home net user sector with straightforward advice and information.

The group poached Jim Lennox, editor of Computeractive, to head up the magazine. He said of the launch: “The name Web User sums up what we are all about: giving down-to-earth help and advice to millions of everyday users of the web. We’ll be showing them the best websites, helping them find the best deals, making sure they don’t get ripped off and giving practical advice on using their internet software”.

“Our fortnightly frequency, unique in this market sector, means we can deliver even more to our readers. I’m confident that Web User will rapidly establish itself as the definitive voice of UK net users,” he continued.

A £2m through-the-line campaign will surround the launch, with media buying by MediaCom.
