IPC’s Now Relaunches With Half Price Issue

IPC’s women’s monthly title, Now, is to relaunch this week at a special one-off price of 50p.
The new-look magazine will get an improved glossier finish and the November issue will be supported by a four week TV ad campaign. There will also be a new 16-page supplement featuring the ‘best of the best’ of the celebrity world, with party photos and health features.
The title is also boosting its celebrity news content with Guardian writer Zoe Williams’ new column, which is set to be written minutes before Now goes to press to maximise its relevance.
Last month, IPC’s biggest rival, Emap, launched a new celebrity magazine, Closer (see Emap Promotes Closer With Give-Away), which some commentators have seen as a direct assault on the popularity of Now.
According to IPC, Now is the best selling celebrity title on UK newsstands. The latest ABC figures for January to June 2002 show that Now‘s circulation has increased by 10% to 570,279, up from 518,322 in the same period the previous year.
