iPlayer boss urges manufacturers to simplify connected TVs

iPlayer general manager Daniel Danker has called on consumer electronic manufacturers to “go back to basics”.

Speaking at the DTG Summit 2012 in London, the BBC manager said he believes that connected TV can make TV better – but manufacturers need to simplify products and services to make them more TV-like than PC-like.

By 2015 he expects over half of iPlayer requests to come from connected TVs.
