The Independent Radio Group announced yesterday that it is to submit a bid for the Yorkshire regional radio licence under the name of Excel FM. The Independent Radio Group was formed last September by former Trans World Communications directors Michael Connolly, Neil Jones and Tony Dewhurst and has recently acquired Q96 FM in Glasgow.
