Irish Survey Reveals 52% Of Listeners Tune Into ILRs

The latest JNLR/MRBI interim report published this week shows that more than half of Ireland’s listeners tune into an independent local radio station each weekday. It revelas that nationwide 52% of listeners tune into an independent station, compared to 36% for RTE Radio 1 and 30% for 2FM.

…Nine 7 Eleven FM, the community radio station which catered for the North West of Dublin, has closed this week. The decision was reached between the station and the IRTC after Nine said that it was no longer in a position to honour the terms of its contract.
