Datamonitor, the research analysts, predict that IT budgets for media companies will grow significantly between now and the year 2001. This budget expansion will be largely fueled by the need to adopt, or up-date, new digital systems.
Datamonitor predict that growth in digital systems will result in £448 million expenditure on hardware and packaged software within the next 4 years. Subsequently expenditure on IT services is expected to rise by 68% from £53 million in 1996 to £89 million in 2001.
