ITC 1994 Annual Report – 1994 Revenue Over £2bn
The 1994 Annual Report and Accounts of the ITC have been published. The report records that total ad revenue for commercial television broke the £2 billion barrier for the first time, in 1994, rising by just under 11% on 1993 to £2,087 million.
Cable and satellite advertising revenue was up 35% overall, with a one per cent overall rise in their share of the total market. Channel 4 increased its share from 17% to 19% of net ad revenue. ITV’s total share was 75%, 3% less than in 1993. 1994 saw a 62% increase in subscription income for cable and satellite operators, £542m, with 90% of this earned by BSkyB. Total income from advertising, subscription and programme sales reached £3,219 million.
