ITC Amends Advertising Standards
The Independent Television Commission has issued a new version of its Code of Advertising Standards and Practice; the edition officially incorporates amendments and additions adopted during 1994 and 1995.
The new Code now includes amendments permitting advertising for the National Lottery, and a new Rule permitting advertising of football pools. There are amendments regarding Financial Advertising in recognition of the European Third Insurance Directive, and also a re-draft of the section relevant to Medicines, Health Claims and Nutrition.
