ITC Amends Rules On Dating Services Advertising

The ITC has announced an amendment to its Code of Advertising Standards and Practice rule which stated that introduction and dating services must offer to match individuals for ‘long-term companionship’ in order to advertise. The revised Rule 39 has dropped this requirement and also allows the advertisement on television of telephone dating lines.

The revised ruling takes effect immediately.
