ITC Believes In Digital

Sir Robin Biggam, the ITC Chairman, has said that the digital age would not lead to a decrease in quality and diversity by ITV companies.

Speaking at a Voice of the Listener conference yesterday, Sir Robin stressed that ITV licensees remained committed to the concept and principles of public services and positive programming requirements: while there may be minor adjustments to Channel 3 licences when they are renewed, the basis on which companies applied to broadcast would not be fundamentally altered.

Sir Robin concluded by emphasising his belief in the ITC’s system of regulation and its ability to survive into the digital age.
