The French-based satellite channel Eurotica Rendez Vous has been deemed unacceptable under the terms of the 1990 Broadcasting Act. The ITC has recommended that the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport gains a proscription order to ban the service in the UK.
The Commission found that the channel repeatedly contains material which is beyond ‘taste and decency’. If the proscription order is generated it will be a criminal offence to engage in any promotional activity which is connected with the operation of the service.
