The ITC has said that the foreign satellite porn channel Eros TV is an “unacceptable service” and has called on the Government to effectively ban the service in the UK.
The Commission concluded that the channel, uplinked from Russia, is unacceptable on the grounds that it repeatedly contains material “which offends against good taste and decency.”
The ITC wants the Government to ban the advertising and sale of the decoding equipment which is needed to access the channel and also the marketing for the channel in general. It would also become illegal to place advertisements on the service.
This is the sixth time that the ITC has recommended the Government should act against a channel in this manner – the previous services were Red Hot Television, TV Erotica, Rendez Vous, Satisfaction Club TV and Eurotica Rendez Vous.
