The Independent Television Commission has decided to take no further action on the two identical Channel 5 bids. Both Virgin TV and Channel 5 Broadcasting submitted bids of £22,002,000.
The ITC asked for undertakings from the two consortia that there had been no collusion; these assurances were given, and the ITC has accepted them, although James Conway, head of press said he would not say they were “perfectly happy” with the identical bids.
