The ITC will be examining the takeover of HTV by United News & Media to determine if the move would be “expected to operate against the public interest.”
The ITC is particularly interested in the desirability of “promoting plurality of ownership in the broadcasting and newspaper industries” and any economic benefits which would only apply if HTV was owned by a newspaper company.
