ITC Extends Digital Deadline
![]()
Some of the parties who have expressed an interest in the multiplex digital terrestrial licences formerly held by ITV Digital have requested that the deadline for tender applications be delayed, the ITC has said today.
The deadline for tender applications has been extended by eight working days to 5pm on Thursday 13 June, and in the light of these requests and what are described as “substantial expressions of interest”, the ITC has also extended the period for assessing tender applications, and now expects to announce the outcome on 4 July.
The ITC reports that a number of expressions of interest have been received which include technical proposals for variations to transmission standards, while others have argued against this. Deadlines have been extended, says the ITC, to “allow time for field trials to ensure all potential applicants can develop their technical proposals in light of the trial results and an assessment of them by the ITC.” The ITC’s technical directorate has appointed Logica to provide independent advice on the trial results.
