ITC Names New Chairman

Last night the Independent Television Commission named its new chairman for the next five years. Businessman Sir Robin Biggam will take over from Sir George Russell who retires next month.

Sir Robin, aged 58, is already Chairman of the Fairey Group, and has served as a non-executive director of British Aerospace, British Energy and Redland. One of Sir Robin’s major tasks in his new job will be to introduce digital broadcasting and implement media ownership controls
