ITC Receives Complaints Against Nazi Magazine Ad

The Independent Television Commission (ITC) has received 63 complaints concerning a television advert for a magazine called Hitler’s Third Reich. The ad appeared in the break of the dramatisation of the murder of Stephen Lawrence.

9 of the complaints which the ITC received were concerned with the timing of the ad, which they felt was inappropriate. Generally, all of the complainants were concerned that Hitler’s Third Reich was distasteful subject matter for a magazine. The magazine claims to give readers the chance to experience ‘the terrible secrets of Germany’s evil empire’.

The monthly title was launched in January and distributed through Comag.

The ITC will announce its decision in its next report.

Condďż˝ Nast’s GQ magazine made headline recently after a controversial feature which listed the Nazis and Field Marshall Rommel as amongst the sharpest and stylish men of the 20th Century (see Newsline).
