ITC Receives Remaining Licence Renewal Applications From ITV Franchisees
The Independent Television Commission (ITC) has received licence renewal applications from seven ITV franchises. Formal expressions of interest from Border, Central, Channel, Grampian, Granada, LWT and Scottish mean that all existing Channel 3 licensees have now sought renewal.
Licensees had until 29 September to put forward proposals for renewal for the ten-year period commencing April 1 2001. The regulatory body has been provided with business plans and details of proposed services from each of the franchisees.
The ITC will now take account of the costs and revenues associated with current licence obligations and set the amounts to be paid to Government by the licensees over the next ten years.
