ITC Supports C4’s Call For Funding Change

The ITC has clarified its position on the Channel 4 funding formula following press reports yesterday that they supported Channel 4’s claims. The ITC believes that the current funding formula should be retained, as planned, until 1997, and should then be revised, not scrapped. The ITC would hope to see a situation where under normal circumstances, C4 would not pay out. Some form of formula is necessary however, to act as a safety net. ITV is publishing its position on the C4 funding formula next week.
