ITC Warns C4
The ITC has issued a warning to C4 over an episode of Brookside shown in May which showed a kitchen knife as a murder weapon. The edition of the soap when shown in its omnibus edition at 5.05pm breached the ITC’s programme code and was unsuitable for children’s viewing. The Commission states that if such storylines continue the Omnibus edition should be rescheduled.
The ITC have received 76 “expressions of interest” in the C5 licence, 32 with interest in digital broadcasting and 23 with an interest in a combination of the two. The ITC have recently been under pressure to re-advertise the C5 licence (Newsline 18/10).
